Calamity day "fix" in the works

A significant number of charter community schools face challenges with respect to student transportation in making up missed "calamity days" during the current school year.  Please be assured that a legislative "fix" is in the works to provide needed relief.  It appears that an amendment will be added to legislation to - for the 2007-2008 school year funding only - waive hours or days that community schools were closed due to hazardous weather, epidemic, inoperability of school buses or equipment necessary to school operation, damage to a school building, or utility failure, so long as the school was actually open for instruction with students in attendance for at least 920 hours.  Stay tuned for additional details as they develop.

2008-2009 Charter School Directory

As a member of the Ohio Alliance for Public Charter School, your school will receive prominence on the 'find a school' link to be notability featured on the OAPCS web site.  Detailed member school listings will include name, mailing address and phone number, grades served, specialization, Web address and photo (if provided).

To ensure accuracy of member school listings, the OAPCS requests that all member schools complete this form and return by June 30, 2008.

In addition to the 'find a school' link, the OAPCS will also include the updated information in its 2008-2009 charter school directory.  This directory will feature charter schools and associate members.  Non-members of the OAPCS will be listed with less prominence.

All OAPCS members will receive a copy of the 2008-2009 directory at the 2008 Ohio Charter School Conference.
