Current Legislative Issues - Action Needed Today!

Among The Chamber’s 2010 public policy agenda are two issues that are currently being considered this week during the Regular Session of the Alabama Legislature – (1) support of the right to vote on local issues and (2) local legislation that would allow implementation of “red light” cameras for traffic safety.

The Chamber encourages our legislative delegation to sponsor, support and pass local legislation that would provide our citizens the right to vote on pending issues, such as Sunday sales; and to give local government the opportunity to enact local initiatives that can impact traffic safety, such as the implementation of “red light” cameras for monitoring and enforcement.

What action can you take? Contact our area legislators this week and ask for their support of these two local issues and to pass the necessary legislation to achieve our objectives. Contact info for area legislators is available on our website at www.tuscaloosachamber.com (see QuickLinks box to right side of our homepage)Take action today!
