The PHIT Bill (House Resolution 245) will make personal training, health club memberships and other fitness expenses even more affordable. Clients and club members will be able to use flexible spending or Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) to pay for their memberships and portions of the costs of fitness equipment the same way they currently use the accounts to pay for prescription medications and doctor visits. The PHIT Bill will significantly reduce fitness costs for the American public, giving them a greater incentive to join a fitness facility, hire a personal trainer or purchase exercise equipment. This will encourage thousands of Americas to stay healthy and fit. Reintroduced on January 5, 2007 by Congressmen Jerry Weller (R-IL). The PHIT Bill was then referred to the House Ways and Means Committee and currently has 5 co-sponsors.
