Stop Penalizing Employers for English-in-the-Workplace Policies

English has been the language of safety and unity in American workplaces for generations. From the factory floor to the customer service counter, many employers ask that their employees speak English while conducting business. Unfortunately, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has begun prosecuting employers for this practice, wasting valuable tax dollars in the process.

H.R. 1588, the Common Sense English Act, was introduced to forbid the government from bringing these unnecessary suits. Specifically, it declares that it is not unlawful for an employer to require employees to speak English while engaged in work.
