CCA Recognizes State Legislator Hans Dunshee
CCA Washington recognized Representative Hans Dunshee with it’s first annual "Legislator of the Year" award at a special meeting in Snohomish hosted by the Sno-King, North Snohomish and Sea-Tac chapters on June 27th.

Representative Dunshee has been a champion of conservation and sport fishing throughout his legislative carrier and was instrumental in passing the capitol budget funding for WDFW hatcheries and fish infrastructure.

This is the first time since 1977 that our fisheries will benefit from a large infusion of capitol budget dollars,  a legislative win in light of the huge budget cuts that took place during the 2012 session.
CCA Washington lobbyist, Scott Sigmon, provided an overview and summary of the 2012 legislative session for the CCA members
at the award ceremony.  You can read his summary here.

CCA Southwest Washington Chapter Supports Kid's Fishing Event

This spring the CCA Southwest Washington chapter provided hundreds of volunteer hours in support of the Klineline Kids Fishing event. During the weekend of April 13-14 over 2,300 youth caught thousands of the 14,800 rainbow trout that were stocked specifically for this event. In total, over 300 volunteers helped support this kid’s fishing event and more than 50 of those volunteers were CCA members.
CCA member Keith Isaacson has been volunteering his time at the Klineline Fishing event for years. This year he served on the seven member board that oversaw the event. CCA members helped with rod building, registrations, reel repair, fishing, fish cleaning and at the awards ceremony. “I was very pleased with how many CCA members stepped up this year to help out” Isaacson noted. “I couldn’t think of a better way to support youth in our local community.”
Kids ranged in age from four to fourteen. Plenty of prizes were given away for the young fisherman. Over the course of the weekend 24 BMX bicycles were awarded. CCA is proud to be a supporter of the Klineline Kids Fishing event.
