  Guidance on Coronavirus for Dealers

Many dealers want to know how to treat the Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.   General guidance includes the following:
  • Instruct your employees to stay home if they are sick-You do not want this to spread
  • Instruct employees to wash hands frequently.
  • Disinfect often-Especially door handles, phones, keyboards etc.

You may want to consider revising your employment manual to permit advance use of sick leave to reduce the pressure to come to work for employees who are unwell.

There is a wealth of information on NADA's website at: www.nada.org/coronavirus/resources and on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at this link: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/.  There is also Guidance for Employers prepared by Taft, Stettinius, and Hollister, LLP.  Click here to view.

The CDC also has posters that you can post along with your other required posters.

We recommend posting the "Stop the Spread of Germs" poster at all of your entrances.  You might include a message to your customers saying that the health of your customers and staff is of the utmost importance to your dealership.  If you have any of these symptoms we kindly ask that you stay home until you are feeling better.

Finally, if you or one of your employees is sick with coronavirus, the CDC offers this guidance.
