Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act
The United States Senate passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act on March  25th. The CARES Act still needs to pass out of the House of Representatives before it can be sent to the President to sign it into law. The legislation could be amended in the House before it is delivered to the President, so we will refrain from summarizing the Act at this point in order to avoid possible confusion. That said, whatever the final form of the CARES Act takes, the President is expected to sign it into law very quickly.

The CARES Act is expected to include Small Business Loans that will have terms that would be very favorable to borrowers. Demand for the SBA loans is expected to be high. While the CARES Act is making its way through Congress, this is a good time to reach out to your local banker to inquire about the small business loan provisions and determine your next steps if you are thinking about participating in the program.

IADA will keep you posted as additional information becomes available. For prior IADA guidance on Coronavirus news, please visit our website at www.illinoisdealers.com.
