For cancer centers, the expiration of ACA premium subsidies would have serious consequences, including delayed diagnoses, treatment interruptions, and increased uncompensated care. Patients with lower incomes, as well as those in rural and other underserved communities, would be hit hardest. Access to affordable coverage is essential to ensure that patients can benefit from the prevention, early detection, and treatment advances developed at AACI cancer centers.
We urge you to contact your congressional delegation and encourage them to protect access to care for millions of Americans, whether through an extension of these subsidies or through alternative measures that prevent significant premium hikes for low- and middle-income individuals.
