Fill out this form to ask Congress to protect and fund the CDC's National Asthma Control Program (NACP) at $40 million in FY26 to prevent a surge in asthma emergencies and to ensure critical state asthma programs can continue to operate. This critical public health program was temporarily eliminated on April 1, 2025, due to administrative reductions in force, which cut all staff and halted vital asthma prevention and management efforts nationwide. While staff were reinstated on June 11, 2025, the program remains at risk, as the President’s proposed budget eliminates funding entirely. This program provides life-saving asthma management and prevention resources to states, territories, and municipalities, reducing hospitalizations and emergency visits while saving $71 for every $1 invested. Without this funding, many states will lose essential asthma surveillance tools and evidence-based interventions that protect children, families, and underserved communities.
