Tell Congress to Act Now and Stop Medicare Payment Cuts
The 2023 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule was recently released and, absent congressional action, it will result in unsustainable payment cuts for family physicians in 2023.

That’s why the AAFP is doubling down on our call for Congress to act swiftly to avert the cuts that will go into effect on January 1. We’re also urging Congress to implement long-term Medicare physician payment reform by:

  • Enacting annual positive Medicare physician payment updates to account for growing practice costs.
  • Addressing Medicare budget neutrality limitations, which prevent CMS and our nation from investing in primary care.

Comprehensive physician payment reform is critical to support your practice and protect Medicare beneficiaries’ access to timely, high-quality health care. Use this form to write, call or tweet your members of Congress and urge them to take action on this issue TODAY.
