Support the NP Workforce and Students. Contact Congress Today!
Earlier this year, Congress passed H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which included a provision that created different yearly and lifetime loan limits for graduate and professional students.  Currently, the U.S. Department of Education is engaged in the rulemaking process to implement that provision and has proposed a definition that would classify nurse practitioner programs as graduate and not a professional degree program. If implemented, this could have a drastic impact on the future nursing workforce.

A proposed rule is anticipated to be released at any moment, so it is imperative that you act today to ask Congress to urge the Department of Education to add nurse practitioner programs into the definition of a professional degree program.
