Pennsylvania PAs - Support the PA Compact!

The PA Compact (HB 1961) has passed the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and is now before the State Senate. With the Senate scheduled to be in session for only a few days this fall before adjourning, we need your voice now.

Use the message provided to email your state senator and Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman, urging them to move HB 1961 forward before the end of session. Personalizing your message makes a real difference. Share how the ability to practice across state lines would improve care for your patients and community.

The PA Compact is an interstate licensure compact for PAs that will:

  • Enable seamless multistate practice through license portability.
  • Improve access to care, especially in rural and underserved areas.
  • Strengthen recruitment and retention of PAs in Pennsylvania.
  • Support workforce flexibility during public health emergencies.
  • Help Pennsylvania meet commitments tied to federal rural health funding.

Just as important, the compact will NOT:

  • Expand PA scope of practice.
  • Override Pennsylvania's laws and regulations on PA practice.

Your voice can help ensure Pennsylvania joins the growing number of states supporting PA licensure portability and improved access to patient care.
