MOAPA is championing a critical bill (HB 2749) that would reduce administrative burden and prevent disruptions to patient care by allowing collaborative practice agreements for PAs to be managed at the hospital level.
Right now, PAs in Missouri hospitals must maintain multiple agreements tied to individual physicians. When those physicians leave, rotate, or are temporarily unavailable, agreements must be revised and refiled, even when patient care does not change. These requirements create delays, limit our ability to practice, and can impact patient access to care.
HB 2749 offers a practical solution. It allows hospitals to manage these agreements, ensuring continuity and reducing administrative strain. This means fewer disruptions for PAs and better access to timely care for patients.
