Protect PA Practice in Rhode Island!

Dear Rhode Island PAs,

A bill is moving quickly through the State Senate that could directly affect your practice. S.3184 (Substitute A) would prohibit PAs from ordering or administering conscious (moderate) sedation in Rhode Island.

The bill is scheduled for a vote on Thursday, 5/7.

If passed, this restriction could slow procedures, increase delays in care, and add strain to already busy clinical teams. It could also reduce patient access to procedures that rely on sedation for safety and comfort.

How you can help:

  • Use our template to email your state senator, asking them to oppose S.3184 (Substitute A).
  • Personalize your message! Share a story from your own practice about how sedation is used and how your patients would be affected if these restrictions are enacted.

Thank you for your advocacy efforts!
