Support constitutional amendment to end legislative session at 7 p.m. on June 30
Dear friends of ABD,

House Bill 136 stalled in the House in May, but deserves consideration again in this session.

This Act is the first part of a constitutional amendment that would prohibit the regular session of the General Assembly from extending beyond 7:00 p.m. on June 30, unless recalled by the Governor or the presiding officers of both Houses.

The measure would ensure that legislation is no longer passed late at night on the last day of session, while the state is asleep, or that key pieces of legislation are voted on without discussion or public input due to the timeline.

Government transparency is critical to good governance and citizen participation.

ABD supports this bill in order to ensure better transparency and accountability in Delaware state government. Improvements will lead to better decision making that impacts Delawareans like you.

Please write your Representative in support of HB 136 using the draft language provided.
