Protect Campus Employees in Tax Reform #HigherEdBuildsAmerica
Congress must hear from students, faculty, alumni, and others who care about higher education as lawmakers consider tax reforms that could harm campus employees and graduate students. Congressional Republicans are reviewing the repeal of key tax benefits, including Section 117(d), which allows colleges and universities to offer tax-free tuition waivers to faculty, staff, administrators, and graduate assistants, and Section 127, which lets employers provide their employees up to $5,250 per year tax free for educational assistance. We must urge Congress to preserve these critical policies that support affordability, workforce development, and the research endeavor.
