Action Needed: Help Make Florida EDs Pediatric Ready

In Florida, most pediatric emergency care happens in general EDs, not just children’s hospitals, yet readiness varies widely across the state.

Thanks to strong bipartisan support, HB 355 has now passed the Legislature and is before the Governor for his consideration.  Now we need one final step: Governor DeSantis’ signature.

This legislation establishes consistent, evidence-based pediatric readiness standards for all Florida emergency departments, helping ensure that every child receives timely, high-quality emergency care no matter where they present.

Please take action today. Click to contact Governor DeSantis and urge him to sign HB 355 into law.

Pediatric readiness saves lives, improves outcomes with minimal cost, and can be achieved through proven strategies like designating a Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator and using existing national resources.

A short message from you can help make Florida truly PEDReady for the children we serve every day.
