Action Needed To Protect Emergency Department Staff
Urge the Governor to Sign S.5294B/A.203B into Law
Your Advocacy Matters. Urge Governor Hochul to protect emergency physicians, nurses, and patients from violence in hospital emergency departments by signing this bill into law.
The New York State Legislature has passed S.5294B (Sepúlveda) / A.203B (Cruz), which requires hospitals to establish workplace violence prevention programs and ensure security personnel are in place to safeguard ED staff and patients. This critical legislation will help reduce verbal abuse, threats, and physical assaults that have become all too common in our workplaces.
The bill is now on Governor Hochul’s desk—and we must act to ensure this is written into law as passed by the Legislature.
