As a member of the midwifery community, your voice carries weight. ACNM is urging you to please take two minutes today to contact your Members of Congress and tell them to protect the midwifery set-aside in the final FY 2027 Labor, HHS Appropriations Bill. This funding is essential to sustaining and growing the workforce the people and communities we serve depend on. Without it, the accredited midwifery education programs that educate and train all nationally recognized midwifery credentials (i.e., Certified Nurse-Midwives, Certified Midwives, and Certified Professional Midwives) and expand access to midwifery-led care are at risk.

Additionally, you don’t have to be a midwife to make a difference. Please forward this call to action to anyone who cares about improving maternal health and expanding access to midwives, birth centers, and midwifery-led care. 

Now is the time to act. Urge Congress to maintain the midwifery set-aside funding in the final FY 2027 appropriations bill.
