Ask Congress to Reverse the Medicare Physician Payment Cuts – Act Now!
ACP is calling on all internal medicine physicians to contact their members of Congress to urge them to support reversing harmful Medicare payment cuts to physicians in the next FY24 appropriations package.

Background: A 3.4 percent across-the-board cut to physician payment was included in the 2024 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.

These scheduled cuts stem from a complex set of budget rules and systemic flaws within the Medicare physician fee schedule (MPFS). These challenges have also resulted in Medicare payments to physicians not keeping up with inflation, making a cut to MPFS payment rates that much more harmful.

Action Requested: Please email your members of Congress to urge them to address Medicare payment cuts in the next FY24 appropriations legislative package. A sample email to members of Congress is provided for you that includes space to personalize your message.

Please contact Shuan Tomlinson at stomlinson@acponline.org with any questions about this campaign. Thank you for your continued advocacy.

Stay tuned for future updates as our advocacy on this issue continues and visit our Legislative Action Center often.
