COVID-19: Protecting Dental Patients, Your Colleagues and You

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, governors across the country are taking various actions such as closing restaurants, bars, and public gatherings to mitigate and contain the spread of the virus.

Dental hygiene services produce aerosols that could potentially expose dental team members to the virus. To protect the safety of patients and oral health professionals, ADHA is encouraging all dental hygienists to contact their governor and urge them to limit dental procedures except for emergency services.

This Action Center initiative is led by the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), the only association representing the professional interests of the nation’s licensed dental hygiene community. For more information, visit ADHA.org.
