The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced, with very little notice, a policy change that would eliminate access to the GUIDE dementia care program for Medicare beneficiaries residing in memory care units of residential care communities.

This change would mean thousands of families lose access to care coordination, caregiver training, respite support, and the structured dementia care model that GUIDE was designed to provide. For many caregivers, GUIDE is not a luxury, it is the difference between stability and crisis.

We are asking you to contact your Members of Congress today and urge them to press CMS to reverse this decision. Lawmakers need to hear directly from the people most affected: families already carrying the emotional, financial, and logistical weight of dementia care.
