Congress please include a ban on CBDC in the NDAA
Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), as the name suggests, is a centralized digital currency under the control of the federal government. That seems like a reasonable enough thing — it sounds very similar to a cryptocurrency — however, there is a sinister side that is cause for alarm.

Digital currency, unlike physical currency, is easily trackable. A central, digital US currency would eliminate any notion of financial privacy and allow the federal government to spy on your purchases. This would grant D.C. bureaucrats the ability to easily freeze dissenters' bank accounts, or even prohibit a particular item from being purchased altogether. This is the left’s dream scenario.

President Trump rightly recognized the threat posed by a CBDC , as did the House when they passed H.R. 1919, the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act. However, the Senate has so far refused to take up the bill. House leadership assured conservatives that the bill would be included in the NDAA, but conservatives will need Democrat votes in the Senate to send it to President Trump’s desk.

Tell Congress to protect Americans’ financial privacy by banning CBDCs!
