Voice Your Opinion Over the Awful Omnibus Spending Bill that just passed.
On March 22 Congress voted to pass an Omnibus spending package that was anything but Conservative. The over 2,200 page document was released just 36 hours before it was taken to a vote. No one had time to read the entire bill. The House voted in favor 256-167 and the Senate voted in favor 63-32.
Congress continued to fund Planned Parenthood, Head Start and the National Endowment for the Arts. They stripped most of the funding for a USA border wall. To make matters worse, over $2.2 BILLION was allocated to strengthen the borders in conflict areas in the middle east. Apparently Congress is more concerned in protecting people overseas than in the USA!
Kentucky was evenly split on the vote:
For the Omnibus Bill (big spenders):
Sen Mitch McConnell (R)
Congressman Andy Barr (R-6)
Congressman Brett Guthrie (R-2)
Congressman Hal Rogers (R-5)
Against the Omnibus Bill:
Sen Rand Paul (R)
Congressman James Comer (R-1)
Congressman Thomas Massie (R-4)
Congressman John Yarmuth (D-3)
If you are from KY
, send a message to your legislators. Thank those who voted NO on this terrible spending bill and ask those who voted YES why in the world did they do so? Also ask them to Repeal and Replace ObamaCare like they promised.
One good thing we were able to prevent a bailout from being included in the omnibus. According to Heritage Action even the most moderate senators in the Republican conference, those who have been working to "fix" ObamaCare, are now saying the only choice we have is to go back to repeal and replace it.
