Tell US Senators to vote NO on the so called Equality Act

Alert: A Sledgehammer Against Religious Freedom!

The US House of Representatives voted on Feb 25, 2021 for the so called Equality Act - it is one of the worst attacks on freedom in our lifetime. This bill still faces an uphill fight in the Senate, where it would need 60 votes to break a legislative filibuster.

The horribly misnamed "Equality Act" doesn't protect equality, it smashes true freedom.  The bill is a direct attack on freedom of thought and religious liberty.  Perhaps, even worse, it places the privacy rights of women and children at risk.

Here is what my national office has stated about this Congressional legislation:

By government edict, business owners, employees, and customers alike will be subject to a radical LGBT agenda:

  • Female business owners, customers, and employees would be forced to share spaces in restrooms and dressing rooms with men who claim to be women.
  • Women's sports would be forced to open up to the participation of men who claim to be women.
  • Health care providers and professionals would be forced to perform gender transition procedures (sex changes) and provide medical services (hormone therapy) that would violate their moral and religious convictions. Adoption and foster care agencies will be forced to place children into same sex households and into homes of individuals suffering from gender confusion.
  • College and professional sports stadiums would be required to open their restrooms to either sex.

Here is part of what the Family Research Council has written:

"The Equality Act's expansion of the Title II "Public Accommodations" definition means that females would no longer have privacy in public bathrooms, locker rooms, showers, or even battered women's shelters. State and local laws to this effect are already causing fallout: A kindergartener was assaulted by a boy in her school bathroom. A rape survivor was forced to quit her job when her employer began allowing men into women's private facilities. A man was allowed residence in a shelter, and nine women are suing because they were sexually harassed."

Here is part of what The Catholic League has written:

"[V]irtually every religious institution—from houses of worship to schools—would be expected to fall in line with this radical legislation. Catholic schools, for instance, would be expected to change their teachings on sexual ethics to suit the radical LGBT agenda."

This is just the tip of the iceberg on what this radical bill seeks.  I have not even mentioned its attacks on free speech, its expansion of abortion, its undermining medical rights of conscience protections, or how it could harm religious charities.  Please contact your two US Senators and ask them to vote "NO" on the "Equality Act."

You can call the US Capitol Switchboard 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to your US Senator. Call twice to reach both of them.

Here is a website link that lists Kentucky's Congressional members with their district map as well as their phone number.    Phone calls are the most effective means of making your voice heard on this.   Simply leave a message that you oppose the so-called Equality Act.

By the way, your church is allowed to educate its congregation on this issue.  This is a moral and religious issue that churches are free to discuss.   It is not a partisan election matter during a campaign that might threaten a church's 501C3 status.

Here is a great resource page from Alliance Defending Freedom, a leading religious liberty law firm on the dangers of the Equality Act.  https://www.adflegal.org/blog/president-biden-has-promised-pass-equality-act-heres-how-threatens-your-freedoms

Thanks for making a difference.
