Address the disproportionate impact of migraine & headache disorders on women

In alignment with Pain Awareness Month in September, Representative Madeleine Dean (PA-4) and Representative Brenda Lawrence (MI-14) introduced a resolution on September 30th. This resolution was written to acknowledge the disproportionate impact of migraine disease & headache disease on women. The resolution asks for additional support for migraine disease and headache disorders, and reaffirms a commitment to public education about migraine disease and headache disorders to reduce stigma.

The resolution highlights some key issues in our community:

  • Disability (including Social Security Administration issues)
  • Workplace Impact (including presenteeism / absenteeism)
  • Stigma
  • Disproportionate Impact on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)
  • Specific Focus on Cluster Headache
  • Access to Treatment
  • Federal Research Funding
We would like to encourage you to share this resolution with your Representative and seek their support in co-sponsoring the resolution.
