Breed-specific legislation (BSL) has long been a concern for dog owners across the United States, and it continues to be an issue as lawmakers seek to address the issue of dangerous dogs in their communities.
On May 27, 2020, AKC Legislative Outreach Director Jennifer Clark presented an online webinar that discusses the basics of BSL, key case studies across the country, and how and why BSL proposal continue to be introduced. The webinar also discusses advocacy tips to help clubs and dog owners be effective in communicating with lawmakers on this issue.
A recording of this webinar is available on the Breed-Specific Legislation Key Issues page in the AKC Legislative Action Center. We encourage you to view the webinar and also consider sharing with club members and fellow dog owners.
