The Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA) hosts an annual meeting and trade show where government leaders from across the state and representatives of companies that provide products and services to towns and cities gather for two days of informative workshops, interactive discussions, and networking opportunities. The American Kennel Club Government Relations Department (AKC GR) joined attendees on January 20 and 21, 2023, at the Hynes Convention Center.
The AKC GR exhibit booth featured materials showing how AKC is the recognized expert in promoting responsible dog ownership, training, and breeding.
“Municipal officials understand their responsibilities enforcing state and municipal laws impacting dogs and their owners. However, many are not aware of the positive impact that the more than 100 AKC clubs in Massachusetts and affiliated organizations have in their communities. Resources includes local dog training opportunities, hosting educational and dog sporting events, health clinics and community grants and research that benefits all dogs,” said Stacey Ober, AKC Government Relations Regional Manager.
Ms. Ober noted that attendees visiting the booth shared their love of dogs with her, and posed a wide variety of questions, ranging from animal control, to including dog park funding and design, to AKC’s Museum of the Dog.
In addition to government leaders, many of the other exhibitors also stopped by the AKC GR booth to ask questions and share stories of their beloved dogs.
