HB 290 - Make it easier for mothers to keep their babies fed (House)
Newborn babies need to eat, as they are quick to remind us. HB 290 by Rep. Juandalynn Givan, D-Birmingham, would help nursing mothers ensure that their babies are fed in a timely way.

This bill would provide state-level protections to help ensure mothers have both time and a clean, private space at work to express milk comfortably. And it would make state law more consistent with federal PUMP Act protections for nursing mothers at work.

HB 290 has passed in the House Health Committee and now awaits a vote by the full House.

Email your state House member now and urge them to vote YES on HB 290.

Alabama needs to do more to address the urgent issue of improving maternal and infant health across our state. HB 290 would take an important step toward advancing that goal at workplaces throughout Alabama.
