HB 86 has passed out of committee and will go to the full House. Email your state House member now and ask them to support HB 86.
HB 86 would require the Board of Pardons and Paroles to give weight to three factors that show greater readiness to reenter society: (1) a low risk of reoffense, (2) educational accomplishments while incarcerated and (3) employment while imprisoned.
These are common-sense factors that show a person is better prepared to operate outside prison walls. Sensible justice policy requires allowing people to reintegrate into society once they are ready to do so.
Email your state representative now and urge them to vote YES on HB 86.
Our state has an opportunity to advance common-sense parole reform and reduce overcrowding in our state’s violent prison system with HB 86. Please ask your representative to help make this improvement.
