Alabama’s past and present are littered with attempts to subvert democracy. This bill is another step in a long line of attempts to remove voter accountability from the state’s political processes. SB 268 would help keep corporate money in control of our state’s utilities.

Alabamians already have the third-highest electrical bills in the country, in part because of regulatory capture of the PSC by the very companies that it should regulate for the good of all Alabamians. This bill would make that corporate control harder for the people of Alabama to break.
