One of AMCP's top federal policy priorities, this bipartisan bill will authorize access to digital therapeutics for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Current federal law limits the availability of these therapies under the Medicare and Medicaid programs because they do not fit into one of the existing care categories authorized for coverage, meaning a statutory change must occur before coverage can begin. The bill also directs the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to develop reimbursement and coding practices appropriate to the unique nature of digital therapeutics.
