Ask Congress to Fund the Allied Health Workforce Diversity Program
As part of end-of-year legislation in December of 2022, Congress created the Allied Health Workforce Diversity Program. This win came after nearly five years of advocacy efforts by the allied health professions led, in part, by occupational therapy advocates!

As with any new government program, creation is the first step. Now is the time to advocate for Congress to fund the program.

The Allied Health Workforce Diversity Program is administered by the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA), who will award grant funding to accredited higher education programs of occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, speech language pathology, and audiology. Grants will support efforts to increase opportunities for students from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds.

Contact your legislators and ask them to appropriate funding to the Allied Health Workforce Diversity Program today!
