Save the NEA
On March 21st, Congress released final FY 2018 funding, and the bill includes a $3 million increase each for both the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), bringing their budgets to $153 million! Congress is expected to pass this bill by week's end and the President is expected to sign it into law.

This final budget is in stark contrast to a year ago, when the Endowments were facing a proposed termination by the President.

Since then, our
#SAVEtheNEA campaign has together resulted in hundreds of thousands of calls, emails, local op-eds, expanded research, newspaper ads, and office visits.

Your advocacy, your persistence, and your time has made a difference. Congress has now decided to invest more funding into the arts.

Going forward, the both Endowments received that same termination proposal in the new budget request for FY 2019.

(On February 12th, President Trump released his FY 2019 budget request. His request unfortunately repeats many of the same, misguided ideas of his last budget proposal--ideas that have been met with a resounding rejection from Congress.)

His request repeats the termination of our nation's cultural grant-making agencies, including the  NEA, NEH, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Take two minutes to thank your representatives for their support and for increasing funding for the arts in FY 2018 and tell them how important this funding is to your community.
