Urge Minnesota state legislators to pass a bonding bill
The Minnesota legislative session ends on May 18th, and while support grows for statewide bonding legislation, its passage this session remains in limbo. Minnesota bonding bills, which require a three-fifths supermajority vote to pass, historically fund state infrastructure like roads, water systems, and university buildings. Traditionally passed in even-numbered, non-budget years, time is winding down to pass a bonding bill in 2026.

The Minnesota Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers just released the 2026 Report Card for Minnesota’s Infrastructure, assigning 11 categories of infrastructure a cumulative grade of ‘C’ — the same grade the state received in its 2022 report. While recent state and federal programs have provided much-needed funds to repair and improve infrastructure systems across Minnesota, recent investments only cover a fraction of Minnesota’s infrastructure needs caused by decades of underinvestment and deferred maintenance.

With the 2026 Minnesota Report Card’s top recommendation to secure dedicated, sustainable funding, we need your help TODAY to urge your state legislators to pass a bonding bill before session ends.
