Big Beautiful Bill and Physician Payment Reform

We are deeply concerned that the recently passed Big, Beautiful Bill failed to address physician payment reform. At best, it offers a 2.25% increase followed by 0.5%, but factors like budget neutrality and MIPS could reduce the Medicare Economic Index, potentially leading to annual cuts of 2.8% to 3.5%.

The ongoing 2% sequestration cut remains unaddressed. Physicians now face cuts nearing 6% annually amid rising costs. Since 2001, payments have dropped 33%, with a further 2% annual sequester cut for the last 12 years. ASIPP has proposed solutions. We urge you to support payment reform and address Medicare Advantage spending, projected to exceed $1.1 trillion in 10 years, to preserve patient access.
