Ask Congress to Support WRAIR and Protect U.S. Military Personnel Through Robust Funding
The Department of Defense malaria and infectious disease research budget is always under threat. This year is no exception!

Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-CA-20) along with Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL-18) introduced a bipartisan House Resolution (H. Res 653) on September 17 to support protecting United States military personnel from malaria. This bipartisan resolution recognizes the critical contributions made by WRAIR in protecting the health and safety of our men and women in uniform.

The resolution will only be considered if enough Members of Congress cosponsor!

Members of Congress need to hear from you as an ASTMH member that protecting the health of American service members and promoting regional security are intertwined, and preventing the spread of malaria or other infectious disease outbreaks begins with robust funding for critical institutions like WRAIR.
