Take Action: Strengthen the Midwifery Workforce in Massachusetts

Dear :

Massachusetts lawmakers are considering S 3045, a bill that would strengthen the midwifery workforce and support access to birth center care.

This legislation would require insurers to reimburse certified nurse-midwives and licensed midwives at the same rate as physicians for the same services and establish licensing standards for birth centers. These changes aim to improve access to maternal care and support a more sustainable workforce.

The bill is currently under consideration in the Senate Ways and Means Committee.

We urge you to contact your State Senator on the Ways and Means Committee and ask them to support this legislation.

Sincerely,
Karina Collins
