Take Action: Support Provider Access to Care in California

California lawmakers are considering AB 1973, a bill that would expand and clarify which qualified providers may deliver abortion care. 

This legislation would allow nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives, and other trained providers to perform these services, while updating training and competency requirements. Clarifying provider roles can help improve access to care and ensure services are delivered safely and effectively. 

The bill has passed the Assembly and is now under consideration in the Senate. 

We urge you to contact your State Senator and ask them to support this legislation.
