Take Action: Strengthen Perinatal Care Services in California
California lawmakers are considering SB 912, a bill that would strengthen the state’s comprehensive perinatal services programs and expand access to community-based maternal health services.

This legislation would improve coordination and oversight of perinatal care programs, expand support for nurse home visiting services, and require Medi-Cal managed care plans to provide information about available maternal health services. These changes aim to improve access to coordinated, high-quality care for pregnant and postpartum patients, particularly in underserved communities.

The bill is currently under consideration in the Senate Appropriations Committee, where it must be advanced to continue moving forward.

We urge you to contact members of the Senate Appropriations Committee and ask them to advance this important legislation.
