This bill would require health insurers and managed care organizations to cover post-pregnancy mental health care, including postpartum and post-miscarriage mental health services, without deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, or other cost-sharing requirements. The legislation also seeks to prevent unreasonable restrictions or delays in accessing care.
The bill is currently before the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing, and its reporting deadline has been extended as the committee continues its review.
We urge you to contact members of the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing and ask them to support H 4899 and advance this important legislation.
Sincerely,
Karina Collins | State Government Affairs Specialist
