Inform about Armenia's destructive approach to conflict resolution
Dear Friend,

Armenia continues to occupy and exploit internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan. Over the years peace efforts under auspices of OSCE Minsk Group have proven useless, largely due to deconstructive approach and destructive behavior of Armenian leadership. Although both Armenia and Azerbaijan committed to Madrid Principles in 2007, which proposed a step-by-step resolution of the conflict including return of several occupied districts around Nagorno Karabakh region in the first phase, official Yerevan kept deviating from the plan.

Last week, Russian foreign minister reiterated that in a joint statement issued in March 2019, the mediators stated that a Karabakh settlement must involve “return of the territories surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijani control; an interim status for Nagorno-Karabakh providing guarantees for security and self-governance; a corridor linking Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh; future determination of the final legal status of Nagorno-Karabakh through a legally binding expression of will.”

Yet, unsurprisingly, the Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan came out stating that Armenia will not give up any territories around the Nagorno Karabakh region. This statement once again demonstrates official Yerevan's reluctance in resolving the conflict peacefully. This is why the international community which does not recognize an illegitimate regime installed by Armenia in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and which condemned Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan in UN SC resolutions 822, 853, 874 and 884, must exert pressure on Armenian leadership to comply with international law and its commitments it had made to OSCE Minsk group. Derailing the peace process might bring the parties to resumption of war and destabilize South Caucasus again.

Please take a minute to send this letter to inform your elected officials of destructive behavior of Armenian leadership.

Thank you!
