Take Action - Criminal regime in occupied Karabakh inaugurates a puppet
Dear Friend,

On March 31, Armenia-sponsored criminal regime, installed on Azerbaijan's occupied territories, held "elections" to appoint the next puppet-in-chief who would, at Yerevan's directives, continue to derail the peace talks, exploit the land which belongs to Azerbaijan, and block the return on Azerbaijani IDPs to their homes. These "elections" were denounced and condemned by the OSCE Minsk Group, many governments and international organizations.

In the wake of international condemnation, and to save face, the Armenian government in Yerevan decided to hold the inauguration show not in the local so-called capital of the region, Khankendi as it always did, but in Shusha, the cultural center of Azerbaijan which has been under occupation since May 8, 1992. The newly appointed puppet-elect, Arayik Harutyunyan, will be sworn in on May 21 in Shusha. A few days prior to the ceremony, he stated that he was one of the soldiers occupying Shusha. Expressing pride for ethnic cleansing of a city from its Azerbaijani population is nothing new for Armenian leaders both in Yerevan and occupied Khankendi, but this represents a new low on part of Armenia and yet another blow to the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

To witness the puppet-elect's ceremony, Armenia's president Nikol Pashinyan will travel to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan with a group of officials which demonstrates that official Yerevan has not been and is unlikely to be constructive in its approach to the negotiation process.

Please send this letter to your elected officials and local media to express your indignation about Armenia's actions, and violation of international law.

Thank you!
