On November 15-16, Armenian armed forces launched a large scale attack against positions of Azerbaijani army and border troops near the villages of Yellija and Barmagbina of Kalbajar district; Galakend, Daryurd, Novoivanovka, Garaveliler of Gadabay district; Aghbulag, Aghdam, Garalar, Gosha, Kokhanebi, Hajally, Alibeyli and Asrik Jirdakhan of Tovuz district; as well as the village of Kohnegishlag of Aghstafa district. In response to the unprovoked attack, Azerbaijani forces launched a counter-offensive and neutralized the enemy detachments. As a result of the skirmishes, 7 Azerbaijani servicemen and 15 Armenian soldiers were reportedly killed; 12 Armenian servicemen were detained.
Armenian media reported earlier that officials in Yerevan asked Moscow for help since Armenia is a member of the Kremlin-run Collective Security Treaty Organization. Evidently, Armenia, which suffered a devastating defeat in the 2020 Nagorno Karabakh War, desperately tries to lure Russia into the conflict by provoking Azerbaijan to take retaliatory measures against Armenian armed forces.
Please send this letter to inform your elected officials about Armenia's continuous acts of aggression against Azerbaijan.
