Urge your Legislator to Vote “YES” on the Department of Early Childhood (SB1/ HB5451)

On February 9, 2024, State Senator Kimberly Lightford and State Representative Mary Beth Canty introduced legislation that would create a unified early childhood state agency. The Department of Early Childhood Act (SB1/ HB5451) is a monumental step towards ensuring that Illinois’ parents and providers experience an early childhood education and care system that is simpler, more coordinated, and better equipped to support them and the children they care for. We need you to take action today and ask your legislator to vote YES on the Department of Early Childhood Act  (SB1/ HB5451)!
