Share Your Story with Congress on the National Limb Loss Resource Center
Members of Congress and their staff are already working on next year’s budget, and they want to hear from you about how they can support people with limb loss and limb difference. Specifically, they want to hear about how the National Limb Loss Resource Center® and its programs have impacted your life and the lives of others.

If you have ever called our certified resource center specialists, found helpful information on our website, attended a support group meeting, met with a Certified Peer Visitor, or even attended events like National Conference or youth camp; then you have powerful experiences that need to be shared with your Members of Congress, so they know how the funding they approve each year for the National Limb Loss Resource Center is helping to improve the lives of the limb loss and limb difference community.

We’ve prepared a sample message that is quick and easy for you to customize with your personal experiences and send to your Senators and your Representative.

Background:

Every year, Congress plans a budget for the federal government’s programs and services. Right now, Congress is working on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year that starts on October 1.

The limb loss and limb difference community is coming together to ask Congress to provide $4.2 million in funding for the National Limb Loss Resource Center®. This is a $200,000 increase from what the NLLRC received this year. The President’s Budget for FY23 was also released at the end of March and it included a $200,000 increase.

With the program’s strong bipartisan background of support and with your specific requests for Congress to increase funding for the program, we hope our combined advocacy efforts will be successful. Please share your personal experience your Members of Congress today!
