July 13, 2020 by NAPA Government Affairs
On June 30, the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis issued a report entitled “Solving the Climate Crisis: The Congressional Action Plan for a Clean Energy Economy and a Healthy, Resilient, and Just America.” The report lays out the Climate Crisis Action Plan, calling for Congress to set a price on carbon dioxide pollution and achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.  Among its recommendation, the report calls on Congress to direct EPA to establish a national EPD database of building materials and products and determine standardized requirements for lifecycle analysis of greenhouse gas emissions used in database EPDs, building upon existing standards and databases, such as ISO 14025 and American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials materials standards. The report and summary are here.
