On Oct. 9, NAPA sent a letter to Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, about how regulations and regulatory reform have positively impacted the asphalt pavement industry. With this letter, NAPA included a case study of our successful petition to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for relief from federal trucking Hours of Service (HoS) regulations. The study shows how the relief provided economic benefits for the industry and state departments of transportation while ensuring the safety of commercial motor vehicles and the users of the highway system. Rep. Comer plans to include the case study in a report on the impacts regulations have on different industries.
