With record turnout in many places around the country, voters expressed their support for road funding in several locations. On the whole, voters supported revenue increases to fund road projects in ballot measures presented to them. For example, Arkansas voters approved a state-wide referendum to continue collection of a one-half cent sales tax to cover a $1.3 billion bond issue for roads and bridges. Approval of the extension would amend the state’s constitution to make the tax permanent. NAPA has prepared a summary of voter-approved initiatives.
