NAPA, National Park Service Discuss New Road Program
November 23, 2020 by NAPA Government Affairs
Up to $800 million in new transportation projects have been identified for potential bid letting in the later-half of 2021 according to lists sent to Congress by the Department of Interior and the Department of Agriculture under the Great American Outdoor Act. Projects include roadwork in the most iconic places in the United States. Contracts will be performed under the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) using FHWA’s Federal Lands design manual and specifications. NAPA held a meeting with officials from the National Park Service, including NAPA President & CEO Audrey Copeland and Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association Executive Director Tom Peterson. NAPA members interested in a detailed memo of the meeting should contact NAPA’s Executive Vice President for Advocacy Jay Hansen.
